Desire

Joe and Dorothy were joined in holy matrimony in June 10.The ceremony was held outside in “pheasant hills” It is such a pretty day. There was a blue sky but no rain. We picked the 10th of June as it was my mothers birthday. She passed away a year ago.
The park is about 175 beautiful acres. Land was loaded with wild levies. It has a beautiful flower garden and a pond with fish. They have facilities for eating in. Its a come one come all situation.
We are having a pig roasting now. A couple of friends started it before sun rise. We furnished been for two hours. Than you have to pat. No gifts, as we bottle have hold things for our families. I wore my new leather and Joe wore his almost new ones.
My flowers were golden mined with prairie grass. Its quite a spectacle to see all the Harley's lined up. The people who ride them get a nap. Just because you ride a Harley they seen to think they belong to the “Hell's Angles” gang. They do a lot of good when they have their like seen for charities. The park land has a lot of paths that are ride able. The will start about four o clock. Well I better get before it’s gone.

EXtra

Additional space is a surplus and beyond the usual size. It’s time for our annual picnic. A group of us who have had a garden in the summer get together for a picnic using what we have grown. I think I better set up for 6 extra. Some people just drop by to see what we have made. I have a crop of potatoes. So I am making potato salad. I'll add additional eggs and potatoes. Ben will bring his fantastic egg plant we had a wonderful growing season. Everything was beyond the usual size. We ran out of people to give our vegetables to. Even the nursing home said that's enough.
Pete get the phone call to shell eggs. It was Joe and he wants Pete to come and get him on his extra time hasn't enough in it. Joe makes the best spaghetti sauce. He had extra this year so every lady will be able to take home of it. Hi mom, I turned around and here was my daughter and her family. I wasn't expecting them for a couple of weeks. So it wasn't Joe that had a flat tire it was my daughter. They brought my grandsons along this time. I'll have to call Jane and see if she has any available rooms at the Bed and Breakfast. Tomorrow I'll have to get and get the bedrooms cleaned up here. Pete called the guests and tells them to bring more food. With two teenagers here their wont be any extras. What a wonderful surprise.

Friday

“Pates Place” is buzzing this morning. Spring is here and our thoughts turn to soft ball. The big boys need new uniforms. We though we would approve a spaghetti dinner. Four- fifty for all you can eat. Salads, bread sticks, coffee, milk, and ice cream for dessert. Hopefully it won’t rain as we have the patio set up as well as the bar and dining area. I can’t decide if we should make meat sauce on meat balls. Both of them sound good. We don't start serving until three o'clock. Mabel says she will bake the meat balls. Carl can cook the spaghetti and I'll make the sauce with meat in it. The player’s wives have their baked goods for sale. I see they have my favorite, caramel filled brownies. Every thing is going along nicely.

We started serving at three o clock. All of a sudden I can’t see. I panicked as I only have one good eye. We figured it out. One of my-lenses popped out of the frame of my glasses. STOP! DON'T MOVE! Look down on the floor and see if my lenses are there. We couldn't find it. Guess where it was the only other place it could be, was in the pot of meat sauce. We all had a good laugh.

Bug - Off

It's such a pleasant day. Good to be alive. Nature has outdone herself this spring. Trees are in full bloom and the grass is a lovely green. Tulips, daffodils and pussy willows show their splendor.

It's nice sitting here on bench by the "Lake Chief One Eye" waiting for my friend. The ducks and geese are looking for a place to nest. It won't be long before little ones are swimming by their side.

Here comes Alice in her small red bug. We will walk around the lake if we feel up for it. I have a picnic basket in the trunk of my car. I have a tendency to eat too much when I’m out in fresh air.

I'm quite a shutter bug. I used to be a photographer for the "Hanska Journal." I'm hoping we will see some swans to photograph.

Alice has been having some trouble at her house. A bug was discovered in her phone. Her husband is that sort of man. This outing is to help her relax.

Part way across the lake we come across some young boys throwing some sticks and stones in the water. We ask them nicely not to do that. They told us to "bug-off!"
